1.1 Functions

The SOCIEDAD PÚBLICA DE GESTIÓN Y PROMOCIÓN TURÍSTICA Y CULTURAL DEL PRINCIPADO DE ASTURIAS, S.A.U. (SPGP) is a company wholly owned by the Autonomous Community of the Principality of Asturias, resulting from the merger on 3 October 2013 of "GESTIÓN DE INFRAESTRUCTURAS CULTURALES, TURÍSTICAS Y DEPORTIVAS DEL PRINCIPADO DE ASTURIAS, S.A.U." with the "SOCIEDAD REGIONAL DE TURISMO, S.A.", becoming the "SOCIEDAD REGIONAL DE TURISMO, S.A." under its current name, starting its activity on 22 October 2013.

Its function focuses on the management and operation of cultural, tourist and sports facilities, the provision of infrastructures to improve the use of tourism and the provision of advisory services for the promotion of the tourism sector and activities in the Principality of Asturias.

Its corporate purpose is as follows:

a) The provision of all types of cultural, sporting and tourist infrastructures and facilities, as well as their management and operation.

b) The management, operation, administration, maintenance and conservation, surveillance, research, promotion and commercialisation of the goods and facilities inherent to the infrastructures entrusted to it, as well as that of the spaces and elements common to various infrastructures when they form part of a complex intended as a whole for general use or public service.

c) The provision of new phases of the entrusted infrastructures that are necessary for their better use or adaptation to tourist uses.

d) The provision of all types of services for the promotion of the tourism and cultural sector and activities of the Principality of Asturias through actions such as: 1. Support for marketing and financing, 2. Programming and promotion of new tourist offers, 3. Design and execution of promotion and marketing campaigns, 4.
